Self-regulating is a way to cope through certain situations. Often in life, we aren’t tight ways to regulate our emotions. We are denied what we need in order to learn how to accomplish regulating. Our emotions get out on the back-burner and often we downplay how we feel. We can teach ourselves ways that are health to self-regulate. For some, it may come in the form of journaling or art projects. Others might meditate to gain control of their emotions and to allow themselves the chance to truly feel the emotion and then let it go. It is a learning process to figure out what will work best.
