There are different ways of stimulating alpha brain waves. These brain waves are the ones we experience when our minds are clear of unwanted thoughts. We can stimulate the state of consciousness by practicing deep breathing exercises, closed-eye visualizations, practicing mindfulness, and daydream. Our minds become more relaxed when we participating in these activities. This is one meditation provides us with a calmness, eases anxiety, and helps depression. We can take the time each day to help our minds relax. It is a process that takes some longer to learn. Some may find walking and meditating or yoga to help increase their alpha brain waves as it helps if their body is in motion as well.
