Potassium

Potassium plays a role in kidney health. It is a mineral and electrolyte. When we have too much potassium in our body, it can hinder kidney function. In turn, this can cause trouble for the heart. When we have too little potassium, our blood pressure may increase, deplete calcium in bones, and cause kidney stones. It may also increase thirst and the need to urinate. It’s important to find a balance in potassium intake.
