Acidic foods are foods that contain a low pH. It decreases the blood pH in urine. When we consume foods high in acid regularly it may have a negative effect on the body. When the level of acidity in the body rises, we are at a greater risk of kidney stones, low bone density, and acid reflux. A higher level of acid in the digestive system may also cause gastrointestinal issues as well as poor absorption of nutrients. Acidic foods are good in moderation, but a balance is needed to keep the body healthy.
