Cord Cutting Affirmations

Cord cutting affirmations are affirmations we can use to help sever energetic ties that bind us to people, situations, or any harmful or draining situation. If these things no longer serve us, we can cut the connections and free ourselves from negative emotions, patterns, or attachments that are holding us back.

Doing affirmations helps us to get our power back and release it from someone else. They allow us to let go of what doesn’t serve our greater good. Cord cutting isn’t just about past relationships or removing ties to things draining, it’s about being in the present and moving forward. It helps us to move forward.

Cord Cutting Process

When we practice these affirmations we want to first set our intentions. It’s important to be as specific as possible to what cords or negative attachments we want to release. We create affirmations that are positive and affirm our intention to let go and move forward. Finding a quiet and peaceful space helps us focus and connect with our emotions.

Take a few minutes to relax and center yourself. Taking a few deep breaths helps the mind and body to relax. We can close our eyes to help us focus. Next, repeat your affirmations. You can do this out loud or silently. As you repeat the affirmations, visualize the energetic cords between yourself and the negative attachments being severed. For some, you can picture them dissolving into light and disappearing. Others like to picture using scissors and cutting away the cords and seeing them go away.

After we severe the ties, embrace forgiveness and compassion. You don’t have to forgive the person for what they have done, but you can forgive yourself for not knowing better or for not severing the ties sooner. It will help the healing process. At the end of the cord-cutting experience, express gratitude. Give thanks for lessons learned and the opportunity to let go. Allow yourself to feel whatever emotions you’re feeling at the end. Cord cutting may take time, especially with deeper connections. Be patient with yourself and trust in your ability to move forward.
