Essential fatty acids are part of the cell membranes. They are needed for cells to carry out their normal functions. We cannot live without them. When our bodies have the essential fatty acids they need, it encourages numerous benefits.
When we are deficient in essential fatty acids, we may have poor wound healing, dry skin and eyes, frequent urination, soft nails that break easily, irritability, and excessive thirst. There are conditions linked to being deficient. These conditions include diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, depression, memory problems, and cardiovascular disease to name a few.
Foods we can consume to include essential fatty acids include: fish, seafood, nuts, seeds, and avocados.
