Feed Your Mind Positivity

We’ve heard the saying that we are what we eat. Well, what we feed our minds works the same way. What we think is what we become. Feed your mind positivity.

No, you can’t be positive all the time. But most of us understand the aspect of a chattering mind that tells us we can’t do something, that we are a failure, or that we aren’t good enough. We also are aware if we are in a low mood, our minds might see things as never being able to get better and then our minds will search for any sign of that being true. We can stop those thoughts with practice. It isn’t easy. And while you’re in the middle of a mind struggle, it will feel pretty impossible to make the thoughts stop.

We can take steps to help our minds to handle stressful situations, to heal from trauma, and to calm the stories are mind tries to make us believe. Affirmations help the mind to start believing in the good in life. They give our minds back the power to overcome struggles. We can also stop and take the time to breathe. Focusing on breath-work helps us to feel grounded and more in the moment instead of wherever our mind is trying to take us. We slowly can learn to take a step back from the thoughts our minds have and to see if there is any truth to any of it. Usually there is a bias going on in our minds so sometimes having someone you trust and are open to can help with pulling you away from your thoughts to see if they are valid or not.

When we want to get healthy physically, we take notice to our nutrition and become physically active. We work muscles and our body to strengthen it. Our mind works the same way. The more you work on your mind, the more you feed it positivity, the more resilient you’ll be when stressful situations take place. It isn’t something you do once and you’re done. Strengthen your mind every day with different practices that feel the best for you.
