Lyme Disease is a tick-borne illness caused by the bacteria borrelia. Humans end up with Lyme disease when they are bit by a tick carrying the bacteria. It comes with a variety of symptoms. For most, a round of antibiotics helps to clear up these systems. For others, there are long lasting symptoms, including joint pain and weakness.
There are herbs to help combat the lasting effects of Lyme Disease. These herbs include cat’s claw, sweet wormwood, black walnut, Chinese skullcap, and thyme.
Cat’s claw contains anti-inflammation, antiviral, neuroprotective, and DNA-repairing properties. Lyme disease caused inflammation in the body and the herb helps to reduce it. Sweet wormwood contains the constituent artemisinin. It has strong antimicrobial effects that fight against the borrelia bacteria.
Black walnut and Chinese skullcap both contain antimicrobial effects that help with the symptoms of Lyme disease. The active constituents in these botanicals, as well as cat’s claw and sweet wormwood, work to eradicate the bacteria. The essential oil of thyme works at killing the Lyme bacteria.
All of these herbs contain anti-inflammatory properties and help to relieve the symptoms of Lyme Disease in people.
