Mindful Meditation

Mindful meditation has the capability to reduce inflammation in the body. When we practice meditation, it reduces the level of C-reactive protein markers in our bodies. These markers show when there is an inflammation in the body. Inflammation in the body is linked to diseases, like cancer, heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer’s. Inflammation is also linked to auto-immune disorders.

Meditation relaxes the body, helps regulate and benefits the immune system, and may even help with depression. Each of these items helps to also decrease the risk of inflammation in the body. By lower our stress levels through meditation, we also promote healthy gut health. When the body isn’t in a state of fight or flight, the gut microbiome is able to be regulated and help to assist in keeping inflammation from occurring by keeping a health gut barrier function.
