Our spirit is our true self. Nurturing our spirituality involves exploring and deepening our connection with something greater than ourselves, whether it be a higher power, the universe, or our own inner wisdom. We have a variety of ways we can explore and expand our spiritual side.

I particularly love to connect with nature. While outside, we can practice earthing, also known as grounding. Go barefoot and allow yourself to absorb the earth’s energy. Spend time outdoors, enjoy the beauty of nature, and develop a sense of awe and reverence for the natural world. Nature also helps us to stay in the moment.

Spending time in solitude and quiet reflection is one way to understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Journaling or meditation can help in this process. Engage in conscious awareness of the present moment, appreciating the beauty and significance of each experience. Meditation, breath work, and yoga are ways to help keep focus in the present moment.

Connect with others on a deeper level, discussing topics that are spiritually and intellectually stimulating. Find those with like energy. If you are around people with negative and low energy, you could absorb it. Those with similar energy will help increase your own vibrations and connection with your own spirituality. Engaging in conversations about purpose, meaning, and values can nurture our spiritual self.

Study and learn about different religions, philosophies, and spiritual practices. Adopting aspects that resonate with you can deepen your spiritual understanding. You aren’t rooted to just one belief. Research and see what aligns with you.

Find a spiritual teacher, guru, or mentor who can guide you on your spiritual journey. They can provide insights and support to help you navigate any challenges. As a Reiki master, I enjoy helping other to tap into their own spiritual journey.

Try to spend time engaging in spiritual practices. These practices include prayer, meditation, yoga, or mindfulness exercises. These practices can help quiet the mind, connect with the divine, and cultivate inner peace and balance. Cultivate a sense of gratitude for the blessings in your life and extend compassion and kindness towards yourself and others. One of the reiki principles is just for today, I will cultivate gratitude. Take the time to express gratitude.

Participating in activities that benefit others or the environment. Giving back to the community can create a sense of interconnectedness and meaning.

On your spiritual journey, it is important to honor and trust your inner wisdom and intuition. Allow it to guide you on your spiritual path. We all often have gut-feelings, but brush them off. Listen to those feelings and what they are trying to tell you.

Remember, nurturing your spiritual self is a personal journey that may differ for each individual. It requires patience, open-mindedness, and a genuine willingness to explore and grow.
