Tannins

Tannins may be found in things such as legume seeds, cereals, some leafy green vegetables, nuts, coffee, and tea. Tannins have been found to have little nutrient value, but are making progress in having some health benefits.

They have antioxidant properties that help to protect against cellular oxidative damage. Tannins are an astringent that may tighten pores and draw out liquid. Witch hazel is a source of tannin and works to help different issues involving the skin, including wounds, swelling, and redness.
