Reiki Symbols

Reiki symbols are used during healing sessions. They are used to help enhance the innate power of the healing energy. The 5 Usui Reiki symbols are Cho Ku Rei, Sei Hei Ki, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Dai Ko Myo, and Raku.

The Cho Ku Rei (choh-koo-ray) symbol is the power symbol. It is a level 2 symbol. Its main purpose is to increase the power of universal energy coming to you through Reiki.

The Sei Hei Ki (say-hay-kee) symbol is the emotional symbol. It is also a level 2 symbol. Its intent is for emotional healing and calming. It’s an ideal symbol to use if your focus is to clear emotional blockages or to restore harmony to an active or troubled mind.

The Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (haahn-shah-zee-show-nen) symbol is the distance symbol. It’s a level 2 symbol. This symbol strengthens your ability to heal from a distance. While it isn’t necessary to use the symbol, it will enhance your focus if it is used.

The Dai Ko Myo (dye-koh-my-oh) symbol is the Usui Master Symbol. It is used by those who are Reiki masters. It helps with reaching deep within one’s soul. The meaning of this symbol is interpreted as”Great Shining Light.” It not only helps in calling the power of the universe for healing and connecting our mind and body, it can also stimulate and assist in spiritual growth too.

The Raku (ray-koo) symbol is another Master level symbol. It is used for grounding. It is also known as the completion symbol. This symbol is used to seal in the energy called upon during the session. It’s an excellent symbol to use upon finishing a session.
