Rosemary

Rosemary is an evergreen herb native to the Mediterranean region. It is a fragrant plant that is commonly used as a culinary condiment and is added to soaps and cosmetics because of its aroma.

It has antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. The compounds which contribute to its anti-inflammatory abilities are rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid. The rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid also accumulate in the fatty membrane of cells where antioxidant effect is required. These properties help it to lower blood pressure, improve memory and mood, and helps to support brain health.
